The short version. We collect the business details you type into the audit form, and your email address if you buy something. We send your business name, service type and city to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini in order to ask them who they'd recommend — that's the entire product. We don't sell your data, and we don't run advertising. You can ask us to delete everything by emailing support@unhidelocal.com.

When you run an audit. These are required — they're what we ask the AI assistants about. They appear in queries sent to third-party AI providers (see below). |
| Website address | Optional. If you provide it, we use it to check whether an assistant cited your site specifically. Without it we can still tell you who was recommended instead. |
| Email address | Only if you buy. Used to deliver your report, send receipts, and — for Pro — send monitoring alerts. Handled by our payment processor at checkout. |
| Audit results | The responses we receive from AI assistants, your visibility score, and the competitors named. Stored so your shareable report link keeps working and so Pro monitoring can show change over time. |
| Basic technical data | IP address, browser type and pages viewed, through our hosting and security provider. Used to keep the service running and to prevent abuse. |
We do not ask for, and have no use for, government identifiers, financial account numbers, health information, or precise location data.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and is never transmitted to or stored on our systems. We receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded and the email address associated with it.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use the following service providers, each of which processes data only to deliver the service:
| Provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| OpenAI | Receives the query containing your business name, service type and city, in order to answer who it would recommend. |
| Perplexity | Same as above. |
| Google (Gemini) | Same as above. |
| Stripe | Payment processing, receipts, subscription billing. |
| Supabase | Database hosting for audits and account records. |
| Render | Application hosting. |
| Cloudflare | Website delivery, DNS and security. |
Worth understanding clearly. To find out whether AI assistants recommend your business, we have to ask them about your business. That means your business name, service type and city are sent to OpenAI, Perplexity and Google as part of a query. These are ordinary business details of the kind already published on your website and listings — but we'd rather state it plainly than leave you to work it out.
Each of those providers applies its own privacy and data-retention terms to what it receives. We don't control their policies and can't delete data on their behalf.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or ourselves.
Every audit gets a link containing a long random identifier. Anyone with that link can view that report — it isn't password protected, because the point is that you can share it with your web person or your team. The link doesn't reveal your email address or any payment information. If you'd like a report link disabled, email us and we'll remove it.
Audit records are retained while they remain useful to you — so your shareable link continues to work, and so Pro monitoring can show how your visibility changes over time. Records connected to payments are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.
You can ask us to delete your audit data at any time by emailing support@unhidelocal.com. We'll confirm when it's done. Note that we cannot retract information already sent to the AI providers listed above.
California residents have specific rights regarding personal information under state law, including the rights to know, delete, correct, and to be free from discrimination for exercising them. Email us to exercise any of these and we'll respond.
We don't use advertising cookies and we don't run third-party advertising trackers. The site uses your browser's session storage to keep you signed in to a dashboard while a tab is open; that clears when you close it. Our hosting and security provider sets cookies necessary to deliver and protect the site.
UnhideLocal is a tool for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with the hosting providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we'll tell you.
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we'll make that clear rather than quietly editing the page.
